EvolutionOz storm Wakefield Park

On a freezing cold weekend in the South of Sydney over 50 Mitsubishi Evos from all around the country rolled into Wakefield Park for the EvolutionOz Nationals. The event is multi-discipline competition with competitors with a time attack style battle on the Saturday and drag racing and motorkhana on the Sunday.

Time Attack veteran and a Turbosmart Dealer Notaras Motorsport took to the track in their recently reworked full-carbon Evo 9. The car is fitted with a Turbosmart e-Boost2 boost controller, Race Port bov and HyperGate 45 wastegate. A full feature on this car is coming shortly.

As one of the event’s sponsor Notaras Motorsport entered four cars, among which was this menacing Evo 9, owned and driven by Lachlan Granger. This car will also be competing in the World Time Attack Challenge later this year and was no doubt making the most of the track time in preparation for that event.

The standard of cars this year was high, with fully stickered, dedicated race car builds common rather than the exception.

Big time attack style carbon wings were definitely in fashion at the event, with trick units like this Voltex seen on a majority of serious cars.

Another sponsor of the event and a Turbosmart Dealer – GCG Turbos had the newly released Turbosmart Internal Wastegates on display.
