One of the world’s fastest time attack privateers “Under” Suzuki (of Scorch Racing) has his sights on the World Time Attack crown and, with a little help from Turbosmart he might just do it! Having finished 5th outright at last year’s World Time Attack Challenge, Suzuki-san is confident he can get on the podium this year and if his recent form is anything to go by it’s a definite possibility!
On display at the Tokyo Auto Salon recently, the Scorch Racing S15 featured a new aero which proved its worth at the Tsukuba Raceway shortly after when Suzuki smashed his PB with an amazing lap time of just 54.1 seconds. To put it in perspective, the long-standing lap record at Tsukuba is 53.5 seconds and only one other time attack car has managed to get under that elusive 54 second barrier.
A quick peek under the bonnet reveals a high-end, no nonsense setup utilising Turbosmart’s Comp-Gate40
, Race Port BOV
and a FPR
series fuel pressure regulator. We wish Suzuki-san all the best in August and hope to see him on the podium!
